"Pretty S-crappy Islands" Part 3

Plans For Healthy Foods List Scrapped

This was a strange one, first we had swine Flu Sue babbling on about something to do with health food and telling us it would be beneficial whilst not telling us anything of what she was actually droning on about. as per usual, the written part of the article was equally incoherent. After listening to her woffle and deciphering the written rantings we finally find out that there is some kind of master plan to invade the island with nutritious foodstuffs after the usual year of investigations and report submissions.

Dr Susan Turnbull, Medical Officer of Health.

Jersey’s government is to produce a new Food and Nutrition Strategy.

It will be based on international evidence about improving nutrition with the ultimate aims of of preventing disease and improving healthy life expectancy.

Previous plans to create a list of what was considered ‘healthy foods’ were deemed unfeasible.

The Minister for Health and Social Services, Deputy Anne Pryke Deputy Pryke said it was impractical to think such a definitive list could be made. She said : “In the better interests of Islanders’ health, our efforts are now being focused on the development of a new Food and Nutrition Strategy for Jersey, which will involve a multi-agency approach”.

I saw this article yesterday and started to ponder about it last night. I suspected something and started to go through my usual info channels looking for some confirmation to back up my suspicions. We know that Swine Flu Sue and her mate, Linda Diggle have lied to us about vaccines and flu and only push pharmaceutical solutions on us, so what was I looking for?

This!

Were the whole of Jersey Health planning to push GMO's on us?

Whatever the scenario, England have decided to maim and kill their people with GMO filth and I kind of suspect Jersey will import this poison into the island on the quiet at a later date. Only one day later, the plan for 'alleged' healthy food has now been SCRAPPED!!!

There are NO HEALTH BENEFITS in GM food.

  1. The cost of fresh fruit and veg in Jersey is too expensive for most Islanders to be able to eat their 3-5 a day basic reccomended, so untill this is changed then it's not gonna be possible for many to eat healthily. How can you replace the nutrients of fresh fruit and veg if there isn't anything else to do that except cheap inferior food to fill up on??

A plan is only as good as it's feasible. Unfortunately for most Islanders food isn't their only expense worry.

  2. I'm glad this health food list is gonna be scrapped. She said : “In the better interests of Islanders’ health, our efforts are now being focused on the development of a new Food and Nutrition Strategy for Jersey, which will involve a multi-agency approach”.

Well thank God for that. Not that anyone needs to be treated like a fool though, this information can be seen almost anywhere. Why does more money need to be spent on this? If they really care about our health then they should make healthy choices cheap and affordable to the masses. Currently to live on a healthy diet is the very expensive choice. So what good is preaching if the masses still cannot afford healthy?

Yet another dose of total and utter illogical thinking and nonsense-as per usual. Why are we paying for these so called 'experts', who are useless??

  3. Went shopping to day for food. six puts of biscuits @.35p loaf of bread .45p egg box size box of mushrooms .59p ended up two bags of decent food plus biscuits for morning break cost. £10.45. This was in Aldi.

The prices charged in Jersey supermarkets are an utter rip off. Sorry to tell you that even Iceland charges more than it's UK stores.

The Co-op boss was blatantly lying when he was quoted in the rag as saying there is hardly any markup on food.
