"Three Held In Murder Probe"

St Helier murder victim named as Colin Chevalier

Police said Colin Chevalier suffered "extensive" injuries

A man found dead at his home in Jersey on Saturday night has been named by police as 46 year-old Colin Chevalier.

Three people remain in custody on suspicion of murder.

Police say the three people who have been arrested in connection with his suspected murder, 'were known to each other'.

Two weapons were found at the flat in Duhamel Place and the victim had extensive injuries.

The victim was found dead at his flat at 10.20pm last night (Saturday). Two people, a man and woman, were arrested shortly afterwards on suspicion of murder.

This morning (Sunday) armed police arrested a 35-year-old man in St Clement, also on suspicion of murder.

Firearms officers were involved in the arrests but Jersey Police say this was a precaution and that the public should not be alarmed.

They are also not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident but are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed something related to it.

A Home Office pathologist arrived in Jersey this afternoon to carry out investigations on the body.

Anyone with information relating to the death is asked to call the Major Incident Room on 612923 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
