"Do The People You Work For Buy Your Trade Tools For You?"

Jersey politicians to get technology allowance

Politicians will be able to spend the extra allowance on technology that suits their needs

Politicians in Jersey will be given a £600 per year to spend on technology.
Deputy Jeremy Macon, from The Privileges and Procedures Committee (PPC), said it was a more transparent way of providing technology to members.
Currently, members can get broadband, hardware and software from telecom company JT and the States.
Under the new plans, costing about £31,000 per year, members will have control over how they spend the money and would own any hardware they buy.
States Members currently receive a salary of £42,600, plus another £4,000 to cover expenses.
