Data Protection Queen - Emma Martins
Last time a cop was fired for data protection issues he got his job back a few months later so where is the deterrent? More garbage from our Police Chief.

  1. Good on Police Chief Bowron, now will he start an investigation of the breaking into retired Ex polices Graham Powers personal office cabinet while he was ( neutrally ) suspended and at his personal belongings taken.

His documents and tapes, read, listened too, and his signed work contract stolen. The only other copy held by human resources, strangely went missing.

Follow up on what you have told the JEP, if you mean what you say ?

  2. No problem,

There is no excuse for police staff who access confidential information, that they do not have a right to look at, the police chief said.

But they broke into the retired police chiefs personal cabinet when he said they could, but only with his lawyer present.

Not happy with this suggestion they got a locksmith and broke in anyway and personal documents went missing, therefore this is a crime. Which ever way you look at it.

Make sense now Ian. Time for Bowron to get investigating.

    2. Anyhoo, Bowron (the corporate cop) was given the job of Jersey Police Chief whilst they were still conducting interviews for the job of Jersey Police Chief!!! So pray tell, what is the point in complaining about Bowron's conduct?

The first (and last) time I did that, Bowron investigated HIMSELF

  3. I didn't see The Upton story earlier in the week but I think the point he was making was the way that different offenders have been treated for similar offences. I recall one officer that was even promoted for a serious breach of data protection involving his wife's debt collection agency. Upton admits his mistake but claims quite correctly that it was unfair. Don't know if you can post Uptons article Ian?
