"Aikido Should Certainly Help Jersey's Ongoing Sexual Assault, Bullying & Rape Problems"

"The Morihei Ueshiba Legacy Lives On"

"The purpose of discipline is to live more fully, not less."

  1. with respect Mr Evans, what on earth have you got against this chairty that I had set up to help people more unfortunate than most ie the disabled and vulnerable children? or have I missed the point somehow. I am not responsible for the sexual assaults, bullying and rape on this islands, I give up my time free of charge to help others, what could possibly be wrong with that?

  2. and before you make a comment about me posting as anon. then quoting my name on the comment. I wanted you to know that it was the person who the article is about that made the comment and asked you the question. I give up a lot of my time to help the community and am not looking for any thanks and keep quiet about most of what I do, but the JEP wanted to run this story and I fail to see why it even merits a mention on your blog under such a salacious title which totally misrepresents what we are trying to achieve.

    1. Yes, yes I can. We have way to many rapists and paedophiles for any community, let alone a tiny one such as Jersey. I used to be very much into martial arts and the philosophy behind it and back anyone who promotes martial arts and it's teachings. I fully support as many women and children as possible engaging in martial arts as they will be better equipped to protect themselves should the worst happen in the future. Is that a good enough explanation? I can go on if you wish ;)

  6. Thank you for your commendation. You can probably hear me eating pie as we speak. I have run courses over the last 30 years for young mums, teenage girls and adults females in self protection and awareness. My new charity is about to write an anti bullying programme for secondary schools based on the techniques and ideals of aikido. On another note, I hope that you are recovering from your illness.

    2. Just a question For Roisin, Is there a possibility of giving the disabled person a false sense of security by teaching them these techniques? Please do not take offence, It's just I believe this to be a valid question and would like your thoughts on the matter.
