"Jersey Justice Shining Like A Beacon Again"

Robbed again

EIGHT Islanders who lost a total of £720,000 in a property scam could share in just £25,000 after one of the men who defrauded them was ordered to pay compensation, while seven other victims will get nothing.
Jailed financial adviser John Lewis was yesterday ordered by the Royal Court to repay eight of his victims, who invested between £25,000 and £200,000 each through unregulated companies he set up along with his business partners.
However, the victims will share in just £25,000 – profits from the sale of Lewis’s home – leaving them with between £948 and £5,689 each.
Lewis and his fellow former Goldridge Stone directors, Russell Foot and James Cameron, were sentenced to 4½ years’ imprisonment each for their parts in a £1.3 million scam, which saw them entice clients to invest in US property.
