Tougher checks for Jersey's care workers
Jersey's health department says introducing the regulation of care workers is their current main priority.
New rules are being worked on to ensure all those who work in the industry meet minimum standards.
A new "Regulation of Care Law" will apply to all those who work in the public and private sector.
It's all part of the Health and Social Services Department's attempt to toughen up checks on those who look after the sick and the vulnerable.
The Health Minister Deputy Anne Pryke has also said that all foreign staff will face criminal record checks adding, "where they haven't got CRB checks, we won't employ them."
