Prince Charles to sample local toms
When Prince Charles toured the Central Market back in July he went home with some French tomatoes because there were not any local ones available.
Now grower Peter Le Cuirot is making sure the Prince of Wales gets to try some locally grown fruit after all.
He is picking and packing his Jersey tomatoes and sending them off to The Mall.
Peter has been growing indoor tomatoes for 39 years and now sells most of them to selected Sainsbury's and local outlets. He was named Outstanding Quality Supplier in the Sainsbury Supplier Awards two years ago, beating off worldwide competition.
