"Improve Government - Smash Corruption"

Bailhache looking to improve government

A Stain On Humanity

Jersey's Electoral Commission, led by Senator Sir Philip Bailhache is on a fact-finding mission to Guernsey.

The commission is looking at how to improve the way government operates.

The commission is gathering information from politicians and officers about the structure of Guernsey's States Assembly, which itself is looking at reform.

Senator Bailhache says the commission is keen to understand the operation of governments in other small jurisdictions.

In Jersey there will be public hearings on Monday 9 July and Monday 16 July at the Town Hall for islanders to submit their views on how government locally can develop.
