"How Jersey Really Treats Her Life Savers"

RNLI will be treated like dirt by the States of Jersey
A CHARITY that carries out all of its work while floating on water will be getting the support of some very different kinds of floats this summer.

The Jersey branch of the RNLI has been chosen as the official charity at next month’s two Battle of Flowers parades.

For the fourth year running, parade organisers have decided to join forces with a local charity. As a result, representatives from the RNLI will have the opportunity to be involved in the both the main Battle parade on Thursday 9 August and the Moonlight Parade on Friday 10 August, by selling programmes, which they will receive commission from. There will also be a retiring collection at both parades in aid of the organisation.

The first charity to be supported by the Battle of Flowers was the Variety Club of Jersey in 2009, following which Holidays for Heroes was the chosen charity in 2010, with the Jersey Kidney Patients Association selected last year.
