"Have Your Say Even Though Our Minds Are Already Made Up"

Have your say on Jersey's States

Jersey States' Electoral Commission will hold its second public meeting on Monday. The meeting sets out to hear people's views on how the structure of the States could be improved.
Senator Philip Ozouf and Deputy Stephen Luce will be amongst those giving their suggestions to the Commission.

But the hearing isn't limited to states members. All islanders are being encouraged to submit their views in writing, stating whether they would like to attend a future hearing.

Commission Chairman, Senator Sir Philip Bailhache, said he hoped that more people would contribute to the Commissions consultation over the coming weeks. He said: I would encourage people who want to give their views to send us their submission and to let us know if they would be interested in coming along to speak with us. We held our first public hearing in June and it was very helpful to be able to talk to Islanders about how they see the future of the States Assembly.

The meetings take place at the Town Hall.

A further hearing is due to take place on the 16th of July.
