UK minister promises more co-operation
The UK minister with responsibility for the Channel Islands is promising much closer co-operation between the UK Government and the Crown Dependencies.
Lord McNally has been on a three-day visit to the islands and says he also wants to ensure there are no surprises ahead.
His comments came in Alderney where he heard about plans for developing the economy there.
In recent months the islands have been rocked by some unexpected decisions by the UK government.
Part of Guerney's pensions business suddenly became outlawed. And earlier this year the islands took the UK government to court over a tax issue.
Local politicians will be hoping that Lord McNally is laying the path for a better relationship between the islands and Westminster.
