"Abuse In The Workplace In Jersey"

States workplace bullies

‘getting away with it’

"NO SHIT?"

Victims of bullying are too afraid to complain, says Unite spokesman Nick Corbel

WORKPLACE bullies in the public sector are escaping unpunished because their victims are often too scared to make a complaint, a union spokesman has claimed.

Nick Corbel, from the Unite union, said that workers fear ‘serious repercussions’ from their colleagues and other senior staff if they allege they are being bullied or harassed.

And he claims that others are being deterred because those who are called in to investigate the complaints are themselves States workers who may know the accused.

Mr Corbel spoke to the JEP after the paper submitted a request under the Freedom of Information code for figures on bullying and harassment in the States.

  1. I was going to say why complain when you have a nice package (pension, holiday pay etc etc) but then I thought no wonder the bullies are getting away with it, because people are scared of losing their package.

Its often said if you get a job in the states you are sorted for life. I assume that means providing you dont rock the boat and make a complaint. Be it legitimate or not.

If you are promissed a decent pension then why would you rock the boat? You would be more inclined to weather the storm and put up with it which is where the powers that be have you over a barrel.

A case of put up with it or keep your mouth shut.

  2. I remember Lenny Harper relating the story, in his affidavit or one of his other blog entries, of the young female working in the Attorney General's Law Officer's department who was being sexually harrassed by a senior member of staff. They moved her to where they thought was the safest work place - the police department under Power and Harper, and she was so comfortable there she joined the force. I also remember that Lenny Harper said she had gone to another lawyer in the department for help and given that lawyer e mails she had received from the cuprit. The female had complained but the hearing was being chaired by the god father of the guilty mans children. I also remember that the lawyer she went to for help was prevented from acting on her behalf by threats to sack her husband who also worked for the Attorney General. I'm sure Lenny Harper will confirm this.

Poor girl, little did she know Weirdcop was going to be her boss.

Kind of, "out of the frying pan & into the fire" hey?

  5. Ian my name ain't Jonny, Jon, Troll, Stella or whatever feeble insult you can dream up tonight.

FYI your criminal record has been passed around a certain number of states members and departments and believe me, you are seen as nothing but a convicted thug with a screw loose.

    1. Whatever your name is, is none of my concern, I do not believe for a minute that you are Jon.

What I do know is that you are pathetic, you are weak, and you are a coward. You hide behind anonymity with a big smile on your face whilst pedalling the Oligarchy bullshit line without an ounce of anything to back up your misguided and ignorant misinformation.

Another clandestine halfwit with all the delusions of power and authority of criminals such as ian le marquand, barking bill bullcrap, king birt, tim le flop, phick phil, gameshow mike, fwank the bat, terry the sewer, and "THE RAG RAPIST"

What a wonderful set of role models you have....

Personally, I would rather follow the examples of real human beings such as Mr Syvret, Mr Hill, Mr Pitman, My Le Herissier, Mr Sorda, Mr McFlurry, Miss Modral, Miss Jarmaine, Mr Dun, Mr Nerak, Mr Thompson, Mr Ozzy's Place, Mr Biko, Mr King, and Daniel Wimbersomethingorother and so on....and on....and on....

Notice how not one of your GOD's Got a capital letter afforded to their self-riteous name?

Anyone who is anything, need look no further for his or her hero or heroine than their own mirror....

Your barred for another week "ringwipe" :)
