‘We’re not a tax haven’ message for Europe
Senator Sir Philip Bailhache is making his first official visit to Brussels
JERSEY’S new foreign minister says that there should be regular visits abroad to ‘ram home’ the message that the Island is not a tax haven.
His visit follows talks with two senior French Senators who were in the Island over the last few days to talk about the finance industry.
Senator Bailhache said: ‘My primary purpose in going to Brussels is to see the Channel Islands office and to speak to the people in the office and to understand better how the office works. I think that it is important that there should be fairly regular visits both to Brussels and to other places where we have an interest.’
Better get back there rapido PB and tell them you got it all wrong!
