"Now Everybody Is Talking Shyte!"

WHEN St Helier Deputy Richard Rondel was pounding the streets and canvassing parishioners during his election campaign last September, the same issue kept cropping up: dog poo.

Several of his constituents complained about the problem of people failing to clear up after their pets, and having had to tread carefully on pavements in his district, Deputy Rondel has made it one of his priorities in the States.

He will ask a question at tomorrow’s sitting about how many people have been fined in the last three years for not picking up dog waste and he wants a tougher stance to be taken with offenders.

‘It should not be tolerated,’ he said. ‘It is a minority of people who are spoiling the streets for the rest of us. I’m not targeting all dog owners – most are extremely responsible – but my suspicion is that it’s people walking their dogs early in the morning or late at night.’

Statesmanlike in every respect. I am so pleased we have such intelligent and inspirational people serving the community.

And once again we have some first class investigative journalism from the JEP.

What a great day to be a Jerseyman.

      Many thanks Cuckoo Le Quellenecq

  2. The world is in economic meltdown...the island is in deep shit...and we are paying this wanker 50k a year to argue about dog turd....we are truly doomed.

  3. Well Rondel is new to the big house so he has to start from the bottom,in this case the dogs bottom.
