Working longer: What do you think?
"I THINK IT SUCKS ASS"
Skills Jersey, which advises the Education, Social Security and Economic Development departments, has launched a major online survey to canvass the opinion of Jersey residents about keeping elderly Islanders in the workforce.
The anonymous survey is being carried out to investigate the potential legal, cultural or administrative changes that may need to be made to accommodate an ageing population who will be working for longer.
It is hoped that the results of the survey can be used to encourage employers to think about what obstacles or opportunities the issue could create.
Richard Plaster, the chairman of the Skills board, said: ‘People will be staying in work for longer, so we are looking at what that means for the economy, employers and the government.’
