Jailed lawyer fights £2.3m confiscation order

Jailed lawyer fights £2.3m confiscation order

A CROOKED lawyer who hid assets including paintings, a Ferrari and hundreds of thousands of pounds’ worth of shares for his money-laundering father is fighting a £2.3m court confiscation order.

With just 3½ months left to serve of his 15-month prison sentence for perverting the course of justice, Advocate Justin Michel is trying to put his case before the highest court in Britain available to the Crown dependencies.
If the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council overturns his conviction, he could keep his hands on the assets he accepted from his father, Peter Michel, to keep them out of the hands of the authorities.
Advocate Michel was in the Royal Court on Monday morning to ask through his lawyer – Advocate John Kelleher – for a confiscation hearing to be put off until after he hears whether the Privy Council will hear his case.

JM always was an arrogant ****, I'm not surprised he's turned out like this, thinking he can do as he likes!
