A MAN accused of killing a female passenger when he crashed his sports car in St Clement will face trial next year.

Niall Linden (36) entered a plea of not guilty to causing the death of Dita Paverniece by dangerous driving in the Royal Court on Friday.

The alleged offence occurred when he was at the wheel of a Lotus Elise which crashed into a wall in Route de la Côte on 12 February. His case was adjourned for a pre-trial directions hearing.

Mr Linden, who is originally from Belfast, was granted bail and will reappear at the Royal Court for the hearing on 17 January. Under his bail conditions, Mr Linden may not leave the Island and must report to the police station twice a week.

Since when did a newspaper ever publish an article to dispel a rumour?
Oh that's right, when your father is the former Chairman of the Guiton Group which owns the comic, fantastic.

  2. Perhaps we are looking at rigged juries yet again!!! Just casting my mind back to 1997?

  3. Another trial by blog again is it Ian?

  4. No trial here anon, I am just recalling how they kept Graham Cousins out of prison for Grave & Criminal Assault in 1997....

  5. I dont quite understand the point by poster at 7:40

Yes you are a blogger in blogland. And?

Was this not a subject written about in the Jersey Evening Post? Possibly is a rumour, who knows?

  6. A trial by blog would be a damn sight site fairer than a trial by a Jersey judge.

  8. Ian would you not feel that you should verify this rather than leave the open question claimed in the opening post?

  9. The first commenter makes an assertion without evidence. Can somebody definitively answer who Niall Linden's parents are? There is literally nothing on the web which mentions Frank Walker's first wife - what was her maiden name etc

  10. Someone could set you up for a lawsuit by convincing you of a relationship with Walker. You should be cautious about placing such info on this blog before verifying it, because as another commenter said, trial by blog is fairer than by Jersey judge. You already know if they sue you it won't be a fair trial.

  11. Funny how an anguished "What have I done?!" at the scene now conflicts with "Not guilty" isn't it?

  12. It is sad all the speculation here in the absence of facts. As a driver i have in the past driven too fast, skidded in rain and also snow, driven while tired, distracted while driving. Thankfully i have had no serious consequences. There seems to be a lot of casting of stones in this very tragic case.

  13. "FACTS!"

This is Jersey's MSM we are dealing with here, and you expect facts?

Where have you been all this time?

  14. I have just started to read these posts. I can 100% confirm that Niall Linden's father is a school teacher from Belfast, and he is no relation to the man mentioned above.
