Please bee careful!
ISLANDERS are being urged to boycott gardening products which are being blamed for the deaths of thousands of bees each year in Jersey.
The warning has come from the Jersey Organic Association, which is campaigning to save honey bees in the Island.
Some common plant sprays, used to protect against unwanted bugs and insects, have been found to contain chemicals that are harmful to bees, the campaigners say.
These chemicals – neonicotinoids – have been linked to the collapse of whole bee colonies and are thought to have caused the death of billions of bees all over the world.
