"Boating Blagger Gets A Year In Jail"

Benefits cheat who bought himself a boat

A BENEFIT cheat bought a boat with thousands of pounds he ‘stole’ from the taxpayer through fraudulent claims on behalf of his unsuspecting mentally ill mother.

Yesterday David Robert Couillard, who received almost £23,000 in fraudulently-obtained benefits claims in 12 months, was jailed by the Royal Court for a year.

He had claimed the mother on behalf of his 83-year-old mother, who was suffering from dementia.

  1. Just so everyone knows, this ' boat ' which cost ' thousands ' of pounds ... was a little fishing boat. They have made this sound a lot worse than it actually is, defiantly did not deserve a prison sentence especially 12 months .... anyone who knows him, knows he is not a 'cheat' who 'steals' from people, this was done unintentionally and he clearly didn't realize what he had done was of such a crime !!!!!!

    thanks jamie

  2. When the Jersey authorities or their servile press are involved, there is always another side to the story!

  3. This is your typical example of a jumped up journalist who has nothing better to do than try to make a big story to make there big papers look good.

Dave is a lovely guy who would do anything for his friends and family (INCLUDING HIS MUM) and he dont deserve to be slated by people who dont even know him.

At the end of the day he has already been punished for his so called "CRIME" and been "STOLE" of one year of his life with his Mum, Wife, 5 Children, 2 Grandchildren and Friends.
