"Police Intensify Search For Men Who Assaulted 5 yr Old"
Police have stepped up their search for two men who assaulted a five-year-old boy.
The assault last Tuesday (2 August) is believed to have been of a sexual nature, but police have not confirmed this.
The boy was taken from outside his home in Grand Vaux and taken to a woodland path which connects Grand Vaux and Langley Avenue at around 5pm.
Police are now using that information to ask for more details and want to know if anyone saw the two men running away, somewhere in the Granville School area or near to Langley Park.
Police visited the estate on which the boy lived yesterday evening to speak with residents to gather more information.
A police statement said: "We would appeal to any residents from the areas of Langley Park or Granville School who may have seen two individuals running from the area in question to come forward with any information they may have which may lead to identifying who these two males are.
"The response from the public so far has been extremely supportive and Police are in regular contact with residents on the estate. We would encourage any members of the public who have any information to take call Police Headquarters or the Public Protection Unit (PPU) on 612249."
