"Man Arrested Over 16-yr-old Girl Alleged Assault"
The 25-year-old man is helping police with their enquiries.
Police are investigating after the girl said she was approached by an unknown male who allegedly attacked her.
Fortunately, no serious physical injuries were sustained by the girl and no hospital treatment was required.
The exact scene of the incident is believed to be near or at the bus shelter not far from the roundabout at West Park.
Despite the arrest, police are still appealing for anyone with any information to contact them.
They would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of West Park and the pavilion bus stop at around 10.30-11.15pm yesterday and would like to thank those members of the public who have already contacted them with information.
The girl is described as 5’1” tall and was wearing a blue hoody style top and trousers.
The male was approximately 30-years-old, of Portuguese appearance, and was wearing a black cap, grey hooded top and jogging bottoms.
