"No Better Man To Talk Wind Than Terry Windtalker"

French talks: Wind farms are on agenda

Jersey is on a mission this weekend to encourage closer links with Normandy and Brittany.

On Friday Chief Minister Terry Le Sueur attended the Regional Council of Lower Normandy. Tomorrow (Monday) he'll have talks with the president of Brittany.

Discussions will include wind farms and the development of tourism between the two areas.

Senator Le Sueur is travelling with a delegation which includes representatives from the Airport, the Education, Sport and Culture Department and Tourism. The delegation also includes Connétable Ken Vibert and John Harris, the Director of the Jersey Financial Services Commission.

Mr Harris has been briefing members of the Regional Council on the Island’s finance industry.

The group are also visiting Deauville for talks with the mayor. Topics on the agenda will include the World Equestrian Games which will be hosted by Deauville in 2014.

Senator Le Sueur said described the visits as "extremely important". "They encourage closer links and co-operation with our neighbours in Normandy and Brittany. We will discuss a number of significant issues and I look forward to a further expansion of our excellent relationship."
