"Moron Robbed Bookies For The Price Of A Good Meal?"
A MASKED man armed with a knife robbed a bookmaker’s on Wednesday night.
A female member of staff, who was alone in the town centre premises at the time, was said to be ‘extremely shaken’ by the incident but was not hurt.
The robbery took place at Ladbrokes betting shop in Colomberie just after 8.30 pm.
A spokesman for Ladbrokes said this morning that a few hundred pounds was taken and that they will offer a reward – possibly up to £10,000 – for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction. Police say that the robber entered the bookmakers – in Colomberie at the bottom of Grenville Street – and approached the counter, brandishing the knife and threatening the woman.
