"Hospital Director Refused Contract With Lower Salary"

JERSEY’S new Hospital director refused to take a salary in line with other States pay grades because it would have left him ‘financially disadvantaged’, the JEP has learned.
It was yesterday revealed that Andrew McLaughlin is receiving a lucrative salary usually reserved for those on interim contracts after States officials broke their own pay rules.
It has since emerged that Mr McLaughlin was asked to accept a lower salary – but refused.
The highly unusual circumstances surrounding Mr McLaughlin’s salary negotiations were revealed in a report by the States spending watchdog this week.
