"DIRE WARNING!!!"....2 inches of snow expected? Try two feet of snow!

Expect more snow, Islanders warned

By Lucy Mason

ISLANDERS were today being warned to expect further snow showers over the next 36 hours, with the possibility of up to two inches settling in some parts.

All schools closed at 12.30 pm and and announcement about whether schools will open tomorrow will be made at 6 am.

Jersey’s Met Office put out a snow warning after the bad weather which affected Guernsey earlier in the week moved in overnight, with snow falling in Jersey from around 2 am.

Any water on surfaces is also likely to freeze overnight as temperatures plunge to -2 or -3°C, which, coupled with a fresh wind, could feel more like -10°C.

This morning the runway at Jersey Airport remained open but there were a number of cancellations because of heavy snowfall in the UK.

  1. Crazy lunatic Jersey, life is over tomorrow as we will be submerged in a whole 2 inches of snow!

YES, it's going to be that horrific!!!

Someone actually got paid to write this dribble?

The "accredited" media love it when it snows too much, rains too much or the sun shines too much. The can fill their air-time/column inches with all this dribble and don't have to research anything, or report on real "news".

Not being a JEP reader, I would hazard a guess over the next few days (if it snows) the paper will be full of pictures of snow and telling their reader(s) how deep it is in places and the likes of.

  4. Web Guru, you could certainly be forgiven for thinking that this was a weather report. In any normal democracy, it would indeed be a weather report!

aaah, VFC, you know them so well. If they had the slightest atom of grey matter they would sell millions of papers, by reporting the truth that is slashed across virtually every blog on the island. They have enough corruption and child abuse stories to keep them going well into the next decade!!!

The JEP earn in excess of £300,000 a year from the States of Jersey they are in no hurry to start exposing the truth about them. If they exposed the truth, there would be no States of Jersey, and no JEP.

It's a lovely little relationship that they have and everybody's happy. That includes the majority of their readers because they are blissfully unaware of what is really going on and I envy them (the reader(s)) for that.

    Ignorance is bliss!
